In a context where every drop counts, Protela transforms its environmental commitment into concrete actions. The company has implemented an advanced water treatment and reuse system that optimizes water consumption and gives it a second life in its textile processes. With this initiative, Protela reduces its dependence on the aqueduct and reinforces its contribution to the preservation of water resources, especially during periods of scarcity between 2024 and 2025.

This system has a capacity of 20 liters per second and integrates different stages of purification and filtration that allow up to 70% of the treated water to be recovered and reincorporated into production. At the same time, the waste generated is managed responsibly by an authorized operator, ensuring its use in the production of agricultural fertilizers and strengthening Protela's commitment to the circular economy.

Thanks to this efficient management, as of September 2025 the company has reused 131,828 m³ of water, equivalent to the monthly consumption of 11,984 Colombian households, and has managed to reduce its dependence on the aqueduct by 37% compared to the previous year. It also delivered 745 tons of sludge for agricultural activities, consolidating a more circular, sustainable operation aligned with its purpose of caring for the planet through innovation.
