Eco Fabric - Protela

In the production of our environmentally friendly textiles, we use recycled fibers from recycled plastic bottles, pre-consumer polyamide or regenerated yarn.

Waste utilization: We reuse 60% of our usable waste such as textiles, fibers, paper, cardboard and production waste.

Recycled polyester fibers (PET):

They are made from recycled plastic bottles, which have been discarded by end consumers of bottled beverages.
This is their process:

Bottles are collected from landfills, drains and collection centers, among other places.

They are washed to remove residues, then undergo a flaking process.

The flakes are converted into
pellets through thermal processes
processes.

With new heating processes,
pellets are transformed
into thin, fine yarns.

We convert this yarn into

They are made from the residues of the traditional polyamide process.
This is their process:

The waste generated from the production of polyamide is collected.

This residue is converted into pellets through thermal processes.

Regenerated yarn fibers

They are made from jeans, T-shirts and garments containing cotton.
This is their process:

Garments are selected and separated by color and composition.

The garments are defiberized to obtain the cotton fibers.

Spinning is carried out obtaining fibers by color and thickness.

Accessories such as buttons, zippers and studs are removed.

These fibers go through a carding process where they are agglomerated.

With these yarns we weave eco-friendly textiles, avoiding dyeing processes and water consumption.

*The process of transformation of bottles, polyamide and garments to yarns is done by our supplier. At Protela we convert this yarn into environmentally friendly textiles.
